Glossary
Avatar
A fully-rendered, NFT-based character in the OutWorld universe that represents the player’s in-game identity. Each avatar is unique and includes traits like armor, weapons, origin planet, and gameplay mechanics.
Airdrop
The free distribution of NFTs or tokens to eligible users, typically as a reward for early participation, community engagement, or promotional events.
Blockchain
A decentralized digital ledger that records transactions in a secure, immutable, and transparent way. OutWorld is built on the Solana blockchain.
DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)
A community-driven governance model where token holders can vote on proposals and decisions related to the project’s development, treasury, and features.
Element
Each galaxy in OutWorld is associated with a symbolic element (e.g., Water, Air, Earth, Space) that influences its visual style, lore, and in-game characteristics.
FCFS (First-Come, First-Serve)
A minting mechanism where NFTs are sold to users in the order they arrive, without presales or preferential access.
Interoperability
The ability for OutWorld NFTs to be used, traded, or displayed across external platforms, games, and marketplaces that support the Solana standard.
Launchpad
A platform used to host OutWorld’s public mint. For this project, the mint takes place on LaunchMyNFT.io, allowing users to acquire avatars at the initial offering price.
Magic Eden / Tensor
Leading Solana-based NFT marketplaces where users can buy, sell, and trade OutWorld assets after the public mint.
Metadata
The set of data that describes the attributes of an NFT, including its traits, rarity, and any utility or game mechanics it may have.
Mint / Minting
The process of creating a new NFT on the blockchain. In OutWorld, users mint avatars during the public launch phase.
NFT (Non-Fungible Token)
A unique digital asset stored on the blockchain that certifies ownership of a specific item, such as an OutWorld avatar.
Origin Planet
The fictional home world of an avatar in OutWorld. Each planet influences the avatar’s aesthetic, elemental affinity, and rarity.
Rarity Tier
A classification system that defines the scarcity of an NFT based on its traits. Higher rarity often translates to higher market value and stronger in-game utility.
Royalties
A small fee (2.5%) collected on secondary sales of OutWorld NFTs. Royalties fund ongoing development, creator rewards, and community initiatives.
Smart Contract
A self-executing program on the blockchain that governs transactions and asset ownership. OutWorld’s NFTs are powered by smart contracts on the Solana network.
Solana
A high-performance blockchain chosen for OutWorld due to its speed, scalability, and low transaction fees. All OutWorld assets and interactions are built on Solana.
Staking
The process of locking tokens or NFTs in a contract to earn rewards or unlock special privileges in the OutWorld ecosystem (feature planned in future updates).
Trait
A defining visual or functional attribute of an avatar, such as its armor, weapon, eye color, or power ability. Traits influence gameplay and rarity.
Treasury
A community-managed pool of funds or assets used to sustain the OutWorld ecosystem, reward contributors, and fund new features or initiatives.
Ultra-Rare NFT
A highly exclusive NFT within the OutWorld collection that includes one-of-a-kind traits or mechanics. Only a few ultra-rare avatars exist and may be airdropped to early participants.
